To create an event on a Calendar so everyone can see takes a little more time than just posting something on the forum but an excellent way to get more out of the calendar and forums together. If anyone has looked inside the new http://my.lotro.com character sites given to us by LOTRO then you are somewhat familiar with the internals workings of Ko3a.net.

The my.lotro.com sites are running on Wordpress 2.6 or earlier (not quite sure yet) and Ko3a.net is running on Wordpress 2.7. The overall functionality is similar but with a updated looking Dashboard. So here are the steps than any member can take to post an event.

LOL, ok I will do a better job of explaining how to create an event (I'm killing time at work right now).

Steps to Create a Event on KO3A.net

Step 1: Login into your account with the same username and password at the Wordpress Dashboard login page, http://www.ko3a.net/wp-admin. After logging in you will be at the Dashboard and it should look like the image below.

Step 2: Scroll down towards the bottom of the page and in the left hand navigation there a tab called Calendar. Just click the Calendar tab and it will automatically go to Add Event page.

Step 3: Add all the information to the event as you wish: Title, Description, Date, Time and Occurrence.

*Optional: Adding a Link from the Calendar to the Forum

Step 4: Create a forum post explain more in detail what the event is and if sign up is required (sign up on forum)…etc. This way any members can chime in if they are going to make it or not. After creating the forum post you can go back into the Calendar Dashboard by following Steps 1 & 2. Then click the edit tag next to your post (you should only be able to edit your post) and then copy & paste the web address of the forum post in the Event Link field.
