Goingbigger gave me access to the awesome website he made last year for our Kin and i’ve updated the Member’s list, touched up a few things here and there, and learned how to create the Member profile pages for us, so newer Knights meet me in game to set that up. Very excited to be using this website again so thanks a lot to Biggs for hooking us up. Ko3A forever!
Hola Knightolas. Currently the website is having problems with posting in the forums. I only discovered it after trying to post a new topic in the LOTRO music forum and kept on receiving a 404 page not found error.
Any one else receiving errors when trying to post in the forums? I know Redrover has been having problems logging in and these issues maybe related in some fashion. So as it stands the site cannot be posted and I am hoping this post gets up and not deleted like the rest of the stuff I’ve been trying.
Let me hear from ya Knights, see ya in game.
Muhahaha the dawn has come and enemies must be aware. The Bigg guy has new gear, weapons and some serious tech behind his side. That’s righ, Biggs just scored a new motherboard, power supply and the mean mugger of all video cards, the EVGA GTX 280. The vid card is literally huge and with 1g of memory on board should rock with the 4g I already have.
Some other tech updates are in the way of some new forums: Stairs and Forges (would have added more but haven’t been there yet).
So KO3A members send some advice to me on what you want to see in the forums or better volunteer for forum moderator bitcholas!
Tons of stuff are happening with KO3A. Redrover and Minityrant have come back from their vacation to slay and kill things. Good thing to because we are still missing some old timers like Ascenbrand, one of hell of a minstrel.
Right now I am waiting for the LOTRO client to update before slaying Middle Earth with friends and a few foes
WTF is pre-requisite software? Boo LOTRO, hurry up or I start killing developers with Peerless Silver Mallorn Hammers. Oh no, got the 14k download now. OMG what does it take to download at a high rate of speed…ok it is going fast but that is not fast enough for a lvl 60 Champ
Shhhh…when Managuensis goes to bed I will game on his machine. Sssshhh, keep it down he is still awake. Damn Mike. I know you’re leader and all. Just kidding bro-kish-kosh. Don’t demote me.
Anyhoo. Well Knights have some fun slaying monsters in Moria and lets show everyone while we are the best Kinship!
KO3A fo Life!
Since the release of MoM I have been feeling like a noob all over again. I don’t know what it is. Is it KO3A members have progressed to the upper levels of 50 and 60 that I feel left out on questing, is it that my gear and level required to quest seems obsolete or is it the darkness that seems to fill the halls of Moria? Not real sure but occasionally it seems that progress is made, the other night I finally hit level 53.
Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me and my over thinking of everything? Could it be work interfering to much with LOTRO time to get any real productivity numbers going? Hmm don’t know. So last night, tired of roaming the halls of Moria, I headed out to the Ettenmoors to see if anyone was doing some killing. Right away I seen a creep that low on morale and I ganked him from the backside (sounds dirty) and then immediately got destroyed by his buddies.
Wambli joined me for a bit but had to leave to get some good sleep but we got killed a few times and never where productive. It was cool though and since the release of MoM, Elf Camp got a some new fortress updates making it a tad easier to stay safe. But the crappy thing is that a Champs ranged weapons still suck and creeps can easily stay out of shooting range making it sorta pointless for a Champ.
Anyhoo that is enough complaining about my noobishness; better log on and work on some levels and shake this feeling. And as Tool would say “I need to watch things die”.
Right now I am downloading the new updates, well lets hope they are all the updates, for Mines of Moria expansion. There are 14,561 files to download and that will take a while even on a high speed connection…boo updates…horary LOTRO. I am really excited to deploy new champ upgrades and start making a mess out of the enemies that will be found in MoM.
I look forward to many KO3A members who have been gone to return on the release date, like Redrover but some will still be long before there return. I did talk to Tantastus and he will be back after schools ends in August 09. Seems likes a ways out but for some reason I know many will still be here to see his return to KO3A.
Through 2,800+ files, arg…
Well hopefully it finishes faster than it is going.
I consider myself a Champion even though I have alt of different classes. It is the way I tend to be in real life and fits my personality. With that said I was disappointed not to hear any conversation in kin chat or else where of the proposed upgrades to the is class. But this is not the case and quite the opposite in my opinion
The Champion is going to receive a trait bonus and (one of my favorites) the ability to release the Storm of Death (has a great ring to it don’t you think?). It will be based on having the right trait set equipped making the Champion an even more lethal damage dealer. The three trait sets are The Deadly Storm, The Berserker and The Martial Champion. Here is synopsis of the three.
The Deadly Storm
Area of effect damage is one of the Champion’s signature abilities and this Trait Set is all about improving the Champion’s ability to unleash the deadly storm. The set includes all of the old traits that modify AoE skills like, Stalwart Blade and Eye of the Storm.
The Bezserker
This Trait Set focuses on the Champion’s strike skills for single target damage. There were already almost enough traits like Vicious Strikes and Deadly Strikes to not need many new traits to fill the Trait Set. I did manage to slip in one trait that reduces the cooldown for the Champion’s Sprint skill.
The Martial Champion
This Trait Set covers the defensive side of the Champion. Old favorites like Heavy Shields and Braced against Defeat are included in this Trait Set. There are also a few new traits like Controlled Fury, that formally allows Ardent Flurry and Glorious Exchange to both work normally while using Controlled Burn. (The previous loophole for using these skills in Controlled Burn has been closed).
I am definitely the most exciting about The Deadly Storm. As a player who does not like to reslot traits just to do a specific thing (ie..tank) it seems the best fit form my style; inflict as much pain as possible in the shortest amount of time. Imagine, having zero pip cost to Fervour and all your skills are awaiting to do their civic duty of Kill everything. No more hitting with one big skill, using smaller skills until Fervour regenerates then being able to a big skill again. It’s the math I like:
Bigg Skill + Bigg Skill + Bigg Skill = Dead Target.
There has also been changes to the class runes. Much needed IMO. The upgrades will allow a Champion to use both a bow and rune because the rune can be slotted in a class slot instead of the bow slot. No more quick slotting bow
There will also be new runes… the “new Runes that [will] increase [a Champions] abilities the more you adventure with them”.
All this has me excited to be a Champion and to level up to 60! Woot…see ya in Middle Earth.
Last Sunday and Tuesday KO3A owned the Rift with many members and a few from the Freedom Fighters. It was super fun and a rockin group with most of the rewards going to KO3A members; woot! That is always a plus.
Wambli put out a great thread on the Rift of Nurz Ghashzu that explains what to expect. I am feeling pretty confident regarding Barz and Zurm to lead a group but like have X has been doing it. So far Eaglehelm is the only KO3A member with a pair of Rift gear; boots and chest. Know that he has two give me more incentive to get back in there since I was the first to have boots. All fun and games though until Eagle looses an EYE!
Until next time and KO3A forever!!
Got some more updates rolled out: Ryangar’s profile page and the Calendar, profile page info. The Calendar is going to work but it is going to take logging into the website slightly different than the forums. There is no way to post events from the visual part of the site and have to be conducted in the WP-Admin dashboard. I will get to that later but for now it will just look pretty until I get around to writing out instructions. Lata all and cya in the game!
Work has been extremely slow; phone has range just once. Guess the financial markets play havoc on the real estate market
But that is not all a bad thing. It has given me time to work more on the website with no distractions usually caused by work.
In the old forum, the list has been compiled of all the entrants into the coming rift raids. We are still looking for a few more souls to sacrifice in the hunt for awesome goodies that can only be found in the dark corners of the Rift. So join up and get this gear with us.
I will be online tonight and probably tomorrow night and most of Sunday. My pc is still down will sharing with Managuensis. I look forward to seeing everyone there. Peace Out!
The last few hours have been busy busy. Since my pc is broke down it has given more time to focus on the website and get it up to snuff. It has been exciting to feel the site and forums take shape and look like a kinship website. Even though the theme is specific to LOTRO it fits nicely and another bonus came in the forums where there was a “medieval” display setting.
The navigation is coming along and with more content it will gradually build out and seem fuller. The homepage is wacked but bios are coming along and look a lot better than the previous theme. Check out Mikered’s and mine. Image sizes are 133×220 if you are interest in have a one of your own.
There has been much discussion in the old forums regard kin Rift raids and looting rules. The only thing set in stone is the Rift week schedule and this weekend lets get to it Knights. Hopefully KO3A will be bombing around collecting mad loot and gearing up before the expansion.
Well that is it for me today…going to get a beer and game out. See ya in battle
