Work has been extremely slow; phone has range just once. Guess the financial markets play havoc on the real estate market But that is not all a bad thing. It has given me time to work more on the website with no distractions usually caused by work.

In the old forum, the list has been compiled of all the entrants into the coming rift raids. We are still looking for a few more souls to sacrifice in the hunt for awesome goodies that can only be found in the dark corners of the Rift. So join up and get this gear with us.

I will be online tonight and probably tomorrow night and most of Sunday. My pc is still down will sharing with Managuensis. I look forward to seeing everyone there. Peace Out!

The last few hours have been busy busy. Since my pc is broke down it has given more time to focus on the website and get it up to snuff. It has been exciting to feel the site and forums take shape and look like a kinship website. Even though the theme is specific to LOTRO it fits nicely and another bonus came in the forums where there was a “medieval” display setting.

The navigation is coming along and with more content it will gradually build out and seem fuller. The homepage is wacked but bios are coming along and look a lot better than the previous theme. Check out Mikered’s and mine. Image sizes are 133×220 if you are interest in have a one of your own.

There has been much discussion in the old forums regard kin Rift raids and looting rules. The only thing set in stone is the Rift week schedule and this weekend lets get to it Knights. Hopefully KO3A will be bombing around collecting mad loot and gearing up before the expansion.

Now that the site is up and running (not as good as I would like it too) it is now time to start getting things to function as well as include content. Here are some of the things that have gone though my soft damaged brain.

Forums

The forums are having permission issues; don’t look to great and so far there are limited posts. The major problem has to due with the permissions. Currently Guests can post to the forums and no user information is saved.

I would like one volunteer to get website permission access to see if it it helps with the forum permission (all part of the testing phase as I have never integrated a Wordpress forum plugin). My thought is that if a KO3A member is registered on the website those permission would transfer over to the forums. If you would like to help me please volunteer to be a forum tester.

Member Pages

I have started building my page and would like at least to have Mikered and Officers have bio pages. The bios will help new members get to know their leader and officers as well as serve to help the SEO of the site.

Bios pages should be fun and light hearted. I have seen some writings on the old forums about your characters and thought they were awesome. Get creative and take a awesome screenshot (hit F12 to hide UI and F11 will screenshot) to round the page out. Bios can be submitted to me at goingbigger@hotmail.com and can be just a WORD doc.

Home Page

This is a difficult part. The page has to differ from the About page (which as info from the forums) so it makes it challenging to write a Home Page. I am totally open to suggestions and/or if someone wants to take it upon themselves to assist and write something up.

Theme Selection

So far none of the themes installed match or resemble anything close to LOTR. I did find one theme but it had to be built from scratch which outside my abilities. Ryangar mention his roommate might be able to help but lost the email address.

Any theme can be modified but finding images is the difficult part. Right now there is a picture I took of Forochel but it looks like squeeze. I would like to see a kin picture up there but has to be scheduled to get many off us online at the time; which is a schudeling calendar issue. Pictures can be emailed to me at goingbigger@hotmail.com and need to be 921×177 to fit smoothly. I know that is tough but give it a shot as KO3A submitted images would kick creep ass.

Calendar

A plugin has been downloaded but not uploaded into the site so what complication and/or will it suits scheduling needs is yet to be determined. From what has been said, the calendar will show days for raids, moors runs, kin class quests…etc. Hopefully the process is smoother than with the forums.

Miscellaneous

There has been some smack talked against Mikered in a LOTRO Forum and it is ghetto in my opinion. Even though we are gaming with these people we should not be aggravated that they is such smack talk because KO3A doesn’t stoop to that! We are a fun kin that doesn’t matter if someone dies a lot (that’s me) or isn’t the most spectacular player. LOTRO should be fun and part of relaxation outside of normal day-to-day life. So please no get busy with the smack (there is some grey area to I understand).

That is all for now and its back to getting this site working while my video card is down. It such weak ass since gamin rocks!

Well some things have been going well and others not so well.

Found a design but it hasn’t been working to good so far. It is LOTRO theme with a look and feel of the game and would be sweet fit; waiting to hear back from the designer because it may be more development than I am used to (have to write some style sheets).

The profile pages are starting to go up and don’t worry if you don’t see your page (no alt pages will be allowed). I have been starting on my page and it would be cool to have everyone with the same layout (the layout may change as the new theme gets installed). Some members have written some cool posts on the forum regarding their character which can be used.

There are options for authors, contributors and administrators so if you are interested in participating drop a comment here or in the forums.
